FENGBAO Launches Special Precision Steel Pipe Project for High-End Equipment Manufacturing (Extra-Large and Extra-Thick Pipes)

On February 3, 2025, the sixth day of the Lunar New Year and the beginning of spring, the ground-breaking ceremony for Fengbao’s “Special Precision Steel Pipe Project for High-End Equipment Manufacturing (Extra-Large and Extra-Thick Pipes)” was held at the west site of Factory 89 in Fengbao.

The ceremony was officiated by Tian Yuanfei, Deputy Secretary of the Linzhou City Party Committee and Mayor of Linzhou. Sun Jiandu, Secretary of the Linzhou City Party Committee, declared the project officially commenced.

Li Jingmin, Party Secretary and General Manager of Fengbao Special Steel (Group), introduced the project. He explained that the “Special Precision Steel Pipe Project for High-End Equipment Manufacturing (Extra-Large and Extra-Thick Pipes)” is a core initiative for Fengbao Steel in its pursuit to become a globally competitive specialty seamless steel pipe material application company.

The project has a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan and focuses on digitalization and intelligence. It deeply integrates information technology with manufacturing technology, fundamentally innovating the production model and management of seamless steel pipes.

This will enable the production of large-diameter thin-walled and extra-thick seamless steel pipes to meet the needs of specialized fields, driving the new application of seamless steel pipes. Once completed, the project will fill the gap in Fengbao Group’s capacity to meet the increasing demand for large-diameter seamless steel pipes, and its deep processing capabilities will account for more than 60%.

The hot-rolled seamless steel pipe production capacity will exceed 2 million tons, supporting Fengbao in building a manufacturing and application enterprise for seamless steel pipes with higher profitability, stronger innovation capacity, and sustainable competitive advantages.

Shang Haizhou, a member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Hongqi Canal Economic Development Zone, gave a speech. Leaders from Yaocun Town also expressed their commitment to fully support the project’s construction and work together to achieve Linzhou City’s “1225” construction goals.

More than 400 participants attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including representatives from the Hongqi Canal Economic Development Zone, Yaocun Town, city-level units, villages, and company employees.
