Seamless Tube Prices Remain Weak and Stable Today

[Price Review]

Seamless Tubes: On April 28, the price of 108*4.5mm seamless tubes in Linyi and Liaocheng markets remained stable. The seamless tube price index stood at 4,240.41, unchanged from the previous day.

[Raw Materials]

Tube Billets: On April 28, factory prices for tube billets held steady. Prices for hot-rolled 20# tube billets were as follows: Tiangang at 3,350 yuan/ton, Donghai at 3,320 yuan/ton. For continuous casting 20# round billets: Gangtou Special Steel at 3,320 yuan/ton.

Billets: On April 29, the Tangshan billet index was 3,019.0. The settlement price for Tangshan Qian’an (ordinary square billet) was 2,990 yuan/ton, with the weekly average at 2,982.86 and the monthly average at 2,983. Traders’ spot prices were around 3,060 yuan/ton.

Currently, the supply-demand imbalance in the market is not particularly severe, but overall demand has yet to reach peak season levels. In the short term, upward momentum for seamless tube prices remains constrained, with most traders maintaining stable quotations in a wait-and-see stance.

After the May Day holiday, the market will enter a phase of demand verification. If actual demand fails to show significant improvement, seamless tube prices may face downward pressure. For today, prices are expected to remain weak and stable.
